I have been enjoying making small paintings of large views. I have noticed that in terms of scale if you want to capture a large vista you have to make it small. I will also admit it's very fun to knock these out. Above is a view of the South Fork from a bridge overlooking a deep pool. It's amazing how the river changes each winter.
This is a place near Thorp I think of as "The Very Beautiful Spot" you can see a large oxbow in the Yakima River. In the distance you can see the ridges that have been slowly folding over the eons. Below some snap shots that shows the progress and the reference photo. Phone pictures are amazing.
