I have continued to make small paintings of large landscapes. Some are more finished than others - I pretty much just stopped whenever I was happy we got the mood. The one above - Early Spring LIght near Issaquah on I-90 - is a quick and ephemeral view - I didn't over work. I spent the most time on the one of Mt. St. Hellen's but then detail is important to this image - the volcano changed the landscape quickly, however it created a complex structure. In order - Mt. St. Helens - Paradise valley at Mt. Rainer (the volcano is shrouded by clouds) - Mt. Si from a Ridge - Late Winter Sky near Thorp - Snoqualmie Falls in August and Twilight on the South Fork. They are all about 11" x 14" and oil on canvas.
