For these I would go outside with my French easel and just paint as fast I could.
They are mostly oil on small canvas board which was portable, fast and inexpensive. I felt the material gave me license to just work with out worrying what the final painting would be - there was no 'final finished work' this was all about progress. They range in size from 8x10 to 14x16.
Most are from the very early 90's. Work and child rearing were a constant so the time I had to paint was limited - but I use the time I could grab to paint.
I loved the little yard so much. I had worked hard to clean it up and make it a garden. When we first got to the apartment - the ground floors of a row house - the back yard was a junk yard. I spent the first year just cleaning it out, over time I put in three small ponds and flower and vegetable gardens. We were there probably from about 1983 to 1995.
