As part of Rail Road Days, there is a "Paint - Out" the idea is to do a painting of the local scenery between 10 am and 3pm -- then there is a contest at the local eatery, The Black Dog - nice food provided - and the winner is announced.
The first year I entered I won with a train painting - see below - and the wining painting gets made into a poster - and recently the Arts Commission has put up banners.
This year, as in the previous year, I came in second.... not sure they want two posters of anyone's work...
I am happy with the painting - it's 10" x 12".
Like the sun set paintings I was interested in taking something very big and seeing it on a very small scale.
